THE CONTENT OF THIS DOCUMENT MAY BE CHANGED AS NECESSARY DURING THE SEMESTER TO REDUCE UNCERTAINTY AND CONFUSION 1. Welcome to Psyc 2314 Lifespan Psychology! This course will be an 5 week course. Please consider this message your invitation to explore the Mid-Semester Review section of this course once you have access to the course as well as a welcome to this course. The Start Here section has useful information for assisting you in being more successful in online courses in general and in this course specifically. 2. This course will involve the study of Life-Span Growth and Development. In this course we will explore social, emotional, cognitive and physical factors and influences on developing humans from conception to death. 3. In order to do your best in this course, you will need a basic level of skill in reading English. You are also required to have access to a reliable access 4. This course is an ONLINE course for purposes of lecture and discussion. All written assignments, projects, quizzes, exams and other similar course activities will be completed online. In order to complete this course you will need a reliable computer with a reliable connection to the internet in order to complete most course activities. 5. If you do not have a computer with reliable connection to the internet, you will need to arrange access to these resources. You should have basic computer-related skills as described in Step Five of the Mid-Semester Review section of the course (Technical Requirements for the Course). 6. Because this course is an online course, you will need computer-related skills and a reliable connection to the internet. 7. There will be a live synchronous orientation meeting during the first week of the semester. During this orientation session, we discuss the syllabus for the course as well as course policies and procedures. This meeting will use the Class Collaborate Course Room online location. 8. The orientation meeting will be held ONLINE DURING THE FIRST WEEK OF THE SEMESTER IN THE COLLABORATE ULTRA DEDICATED MEETING ROOM FOR THE COURSE. Students may join the meeting using the JOIN COLLABORATE ULTRA MEETING LINK IN THE COURSE MENU. 9. *For further details about assignments, see additional information available by accessing your course in the "Courses" area of my.lamarpa.edu 10. *I will not discuss your grades over the phone. Instructor does not accept corrected or resubmitted documents, which have been mistakenly, incorrectly or incompletely submitted using a Blackboard submission page. This policy applies also to mistakenly using a Blackboard submission page. 15. Instructor does recommend using a pre-submission procedure by which students attaches a version of an assignment to an email message, with the question, "Am I completing this assignment correctly?" To be effective this procedure should be used 48-72 hours BEFORE the assignment due date. 16. ONE GOOD PLACE TO START WOULD BE THE MID-SEMESTER REVIEW SECTION OF THE COURSE MENU, ENDING WITH THE MID_SEMESTER REVIEW BONUS QUIZ. OTHER GOOD PLACES TO CHECK WOULD BE THE COURSE LECTURE NOTES SECTION AND ADDITIONAL INFORMATION SECTIONS OF THE COURSE MENU. ALL ASSIGNMENTS AND BONUS WORK WILL BE GRADED AS SUBMITTED. 17. Instructor will not accept re-submitted or corrected document. If a student submits a submission page without a document attached or included, that submission will receive a course credit score of 0,which is the equivalent of an incorrectly submitted document. 18. Required that students read and understand course policies. No assignments received late will receive full credit for any reason. 19. required that all assignments created and submitted by students will be saved and submitted as MS WORD doc or docx files. NO OTHER FILE FORMATS ARE ACCEPTABLE. 20. Required that students administer the ICC Opinion Survey provided by the instructor to 10 people and use the results in Preview Version and Final Version Core Assignments which required submitting ICC Survey results. required course assignments. Student may use these results in one optional bonus assignment as well.
24. There will be detailed instructions for completing Tables 1 and 2 in the submission areas for Core Assignment Versions 2, 3 and 4.
25. In order to gather the regularly required 200 responses for creating Table 1, students are required to administer the ICC (Intercultural Competence and Communication) Opinion Survey to each of 10 individuals.
26. For those students unable to gather the required 200 opinion survey responses, the instructor will provide an Alternate Table 1 containing 200 alternate responses, which students may use in creating their respective Table 2 components. Use of the Alternate Table 2 will result in the Final Version Core Assignment having a maximum points availability of 105 points rather than the regular 130 points. |

MAKEUP POLICY - THERE WILL BE LIMITED OPPORTUNITIES TO MAKE UP MISSED WORK IN THIS COURSE, PRIMARILY BECAUSE OF TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES ASSOCIATED WITH THE BLACKBOARD SYSTEM BEING UNAVAILABLE AND AFFECTING ALL STUDENTS. 1.
